Job Summary

Novosound are looking for a Manufacturing & Test Technician who will be responsible for the assembly and test at all stages of ultrasound sensor production; from component to fully assembled probes. Reporting to our Operations Manager, the role requires an individual with relevant experience from a technology background. You must be motivated, diligent and have excellent attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required in order to communicate results to the relevant engineering and production teams. This is a new and developing role, and as such you will be required to perform duties such as writing manufacturing and test instructions, identifying and specifying various parts and helping to organise the production line.


  • Minimum of 2 years assembly experience in a technology company or relevant field
  • Technically competent; able to use a variety of hand tools and scientific equipment
  • Experience in hand-soldering is beneficial
  • Good computer literacy: proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and able to learn how to use various software as required (Novosound are a paper-free office)
  • Excellent attention to detail and attitude to quality
  • Self-directed and motivated in a team environment
  • Adaptable, flexible, and quick to learn
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and able to prioritise tasks
  • Excellent attitude to health & safety and quality management systems in the workplace

Key Responsibilities

  • Component test of materials
  • Assembly of ultrasonic probes
  • Fully assembled probe testing
  • Data-sheet generation
  • Packaging of final products
  • Participation in organisation of the production line (e.g. workstation, tooling and equipment organisation)
  • Participation in stock tracking tasks where necessary
  • Participation in manufacturing reviews when required
  • Supporting and training new staff when required
  • Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed
